I am heading to Boston in June. Does anyone know of any good wing places there?
If anyone is headed to central PA or the maryland shore, I have some suggestions for you. Just let me know.

Re: Boston Wings?
Tue, May 11, 2004 - 9:52 PMi'm from central PA (juniata county) but have never found good wings there--whereabouts?
as for boston, you'll have to go a little outside boston but not too far--go to ...i forget the name, but it's around the corner from another good place for wings and beer--roggies, which is in brighton at the end of the line on the C train (green line). i'm not sure if they still have this deal, but they used to have wing night on fridays for 25 cents a wing. good deal with a pabst blue ribbon. -

Re: Boston Wings?
Thu, May 27, 2004 - 6:37 AMI'm from the Harrisburg area, so the places I know are around there. Here are some.
1st there is Kokomo's. They are the standard, have won many competitions. They now have several restaurants in the area and have even opened a few in the Philly area. Some say there wings have gone down hill since they started opening new restaurants, but most people will still name them 1st when listing the best wing joints in the area.
Another good one is in Etters (halfway between York and Harrisburg off the Yocumtown exit of I-83). It's called Kclingers Public House and they specialize in beer, beer and more beer (about 50 to 60 taps and hundreds of beers from around the world). Their wings are good and crispy with good sauces. If they have a buffet of wings, don't get it. They are much better from the kitchen.
I'll give one more for now. I have just recently tried Rookies on Derry St. in Harrisburg. On Tuesdays (all day) the wings are 25 cents each. I got their hot and garlic parmasean. Both were very, very good. Very crispy and excellant flavor. I'll have to try them again, but they may just be the best I've had in the area.

Thu, May 27, 2004 - 6:41 AMOh, one more. If you like something different, there is a BBQ place in New Cumberland called Freeman's Texas BBQ Company. They sell smoked wings. They are good, but they come with no sauce. They have sauce there you can put on them yourself, but it is just a hot sauce, not a wing sauce.
I smoke better wings myself, but if you don't know how to smoke wings, or just want to see what they're like, this is where to find out.
If anyone is interested in how to make smoked buffalo wings, let me know. They are excellant! -

Mon, May 31, 2004 - 3:18 PMthanks, brad--rookie's sounds good. i'm heading to PA in a week, so i'll give it a try. i remembered that place in boston (actually, brighton--near Boston college)--it's called Cityside, and they have 20 cent wings on Mondays and Fridays. Nice and tangy.

Re: Boston Wings?
Thu, October 14, 2004 - 10:41 PMi know this question was way old, but i'm replying anyway for anyone else who may care. (i just found out about this tribe.)
the *only* place i've ever been outside of buffalo, ny that serves (imho) acceptable wings is in newton corner, just outside of boston. it's called "buff's pub" (the owner is from buffalo), and it's on the north side of the "rotary from hell", the huge traffic circle that crosses the mass pike (i-90) twice and has the sheraton hotel in the middle (on top of the pike).

Re: Boston Wings?
Sun, December 3, 2006 - 7:23 PMBoston wings! Yes, Buffs Pub is great. Better is Bison County in Waltham. They have 5 levels of insanity. It's on Moody St. in Waltham (runs out of Newton.)
I live in Boston and even though we're WAY north, we can make WINGS!
